Nancy Rathert
died September 10, 2017

Nancy Rathert, 68 years of age, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 11, 2017.

Nancy was born November 2, 1948, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to the late Ralph Schmid and Marguerite Bedell. She was the middle sibling of three children with older sister Donna and younger brother, George.

Nancy is survived by her former husband, Charles Rathert and their three children, Tiffany, Tarah and Bron.

Tiffany married Steve Swinford and blessed Nancy with two grandchildren, Sawyer(13) and Sayer(12) as well as step grandchild, Jordan(25). Tarah married Charles Cambron and added three more grandchildren, Creed(16), Ryland and Ryder(13).

Nancy was a staunch Republican and loved talking politics. She also enjoyed watching Texans football, tennis matches, beauty pageants and going to the movies. However, her favorite past time was just being with her grandchildren. She never missed a milestone?a birthday, sporting event or a school project. Always supportive, always encouraging, wise and kind, she loved them deeply and unconditionally.

Nancy?s character, strength and trust in God can best be shown from the time she was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer in November until her passing. She had every right to cry, be mad or even fall into a deep depression, but instead she loved more and lived every moment she was given. Pain and fear would not rob her of who she was or where she knew she was going. Living life, until God called her home.

Nancy will be remembered as a beautiful mother, wonderful Nana and a loyal friend, who always had a smile and brought joy to those around her. She had a quiet strength and looked for the positive in everything. She will be missed greatly!
