Donald was born on October 2, 1939 to Herbert and Irene Schultz at their home on the corner of Dowdell Road and Kuykendahl in Klein Texas. He would be the oldest of their six children. He was a graduate of Klein High School and began working after school as a butcher. He married Claudean Pyle in 1966, and they had two children, Deana and David. He was a loving Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Friend. He always had a smile on his face, was funny, would do anything for anyone and loved cars, even at a young age.

During his career he worked for Minimax, Gerlands, Wilsons and Klein's Supermarkets. He took a small break from being a butcher and worked for Klein ISD as a tax assessor, which only lasted about a year. After that, he opened Schultz's Meat Market and served the Klein community for several years.
